The project aims to reconnect the two sides of the school- the lake at a lower level and the road at a higher level. Besides the basic requirement of rooms, it attaches great importance to the public space shaping. By inserting different collective programs both inside and outside of the building, the project reactivate this originally deserted piece of land in school.

Complex design derives from simple and ordinary elements. This landscape project takes curve as the basic prototype. By intersecting and connecting, multiple curves generate various dynamic spatial moments to form a sequence of public spaces.

Practice Of Ancient Architecture Surveying

Chinese ancestors thought highly of the Grade and the Order, which could be seen through the layout of different kinds of rooms. There is often a central axis passing through the whole building as long as the host has a high status. With the primary rooms arranged along the axis and the secondary rooms on both sides, the whole building demonstrates a latent rule and system.
In ancient China, plinth doesn't only serve as the load-bearing structure but also as an interior decoration. Distinctive patterns on the facade of the plinth demonstrated folk believes. Plinths with complex patterns were used in primary rooms such as living rooms while those with simpler patterns were used in secondary rooms like kitchens.
